How to: Assign batch ingredients or chemical additives

Each batch within the system can have a list of chemical additives or ingredients attached, which will print on Patient Details + Ingredients or Detailed Package labels. These can always be updated or modified, but with a little preparation can be added quickly and painlessly.

  1. Creating ingredient templates
  2. Assigning ingredients when creating a batch (including within a purchase order)
  3. Assigning ingredients to an existing batch
  4. Assigning ingredients at the grow

1. Creating ingredient templates

By creating an ingredient template ahead of time, you can save yourself a great deal of future hassle. Rather than typing out an ingredient list every time, you can simply apply the relevant template. This is especially useful if you produce most of your product and have a uniform set of ingredients.

To create a template:

  1. Navigate to Inventory, Batches, Ingredient Templates:
  2. Click Add a Template:
  3. Fill in the necessary information:
    • Title is the name that will display when selecting from a list of templates.
    • Producer is the name of the producer using this ingredient list.
    • Description is a simple description of the template for your own reference.
    • Ingredients is the list of ingredients themselves.

  4. Click Save or, if you wish to create another template, Save and Create Another.

2. Assigning ingredients when creating a batch (including within a purchase order)

As is standard procedure when working within a batch tracked system, in order to check in product on a purchase order you must create any necessary batches before the purchase order can successfully complete. As part of this procedure, you're able to assign ingredients at the time of batch creation.

To begin, open a new batch dialogue by doing one of the following:

  1. Navigate to Inventory, Batches and select Enter a Batch.

  2. Or, within a Purchase Order, select Add Batch.

Once this is done, you will see the Add Batch dialogue. You can set the ingredients for the batch in one of two ways:

  1. By selecting a previously created ingredient template.
  2. Or, if there are no applicable templates, by typing in the ingredients list manually:

Once this batch has been created, any packages associated with this batch will print this list as ingredients.

3. Assigning ingredients to an existing batch

If you have an existing batch to which you wish to add a list of ingredients, you may do so by doing the following:

  1. Navigate to Inventory, Batches, View Batches.
  2. On the list of batches, find the desired batch and click the edit link in the far right column.

This will call up the edit page for this batch record. You can set the ingredients for the batch in one of two ways:

  1. By selecting a previously created ingredient template.
  2. Or, if there are no applicable templates, by typing in the ingredients list manually:

Once this batch has been saved, any packages associated with this batch will print this list as ingredients.

4. Assigning ingredients at the grow

Ingredients added to plants in the Grow module will automatically be included in a Batch when that Batch is transferred to the dispensary from the Grow.
