New changes to GrowTracker

The January 2014 release introduces a number of changes to provide more detailed recording of weights measured when harvesting a batch.

1. How to create Batch Weight Types.

2. How to weigh and package harvested plants.

3. How to report on plant weights and assignments.

1. How to create Batch Weight Types.

For a system to record detailed weight types, they must first be created within GrowTracker.

  1. Navigate to Grow, Settings, Customize Lists and find Batch Weight Types.

  2. Click Add Terms. Set a name for the weigh type. Expand Advanced Options and select the type of weight this falls under. Click Save.

2. How to weigh and package harvested plants.

  1. When weighing, radio buttons appear for primary types Unfinished Products, Wholesale Byproduct, and Waste. If the primary type has custom weigh types assigned, it will populate a dropdown box with the custom types. An Assign To box now also allows the user recording the weights to select the employee associated with the weight.
  2. On the Batch Weights page, this will remain grouped with other weights of its primary type.
  3. This will, however, be an additional option when selecting weight to package.

3. How to report on plant weights and assignments.

The Weight Details tab now includes expandable subsections that will allow users to see the breakdown of weight types.

In addition, the Custom Reporting Module includes tracking of this new data in the Grow Batches data source.
